Dennis was born at the Fort Qu'Appelle Indian Hospital and spent his childhood on the Sakimay First Nation in southeastern Saskatchewan. He attended St. Joseph's College High School in Yorkton, Saskatchewan and graduated from Washington State University with a Bachelor of Arts Degree. He currently resides in Regina where most of his work career was in the employ of the First Nations University of Canada, formerly the Saskatchewan Indian Federated College. Dennis is an active writer and runner in the community. He is a member of the Survivors Writers Group and is a freelance writer for various cultural organizations in Regina. As a runner Dennis participates in road races from 10K to Marathons during the summer months and has organized the "Regina Aboriginal Kin Youth Running Club" in partnership with the Regina Sports Council and our "Kin Club". Most recent memorable experience: "Running in the 2002 LaSalle Bank Chicago Marathon with 30,000-plus other runners." |
